Lingqiao is a researcher in the School of Computer Science at the University of Adelaide. His research focuses on machine learning, in particular its applications in computer vision and multimedia signal processing. He builds tools for recognising objects and activities in images or videos, for automatically learning visual knowledge from the Internet, and for composing music by computers.
