From New Zealand, Dr. Dare’s clinical work is focused on general and trauma surgery and her research interests lie in the provision of surgical care in low- and middle-income countries. She is a CIHR postdoctoral fellow at CGHR. Her current research focuses on quantifying the burden of surgical disease in low- and middle-income countries and relating this to access to care using verbal autopsy data, household surveys and geostatistical interpolation techniques. Dr. Dare will be presenting material on global injury mortality.
