Dr Allyson Mutch is a Senior Lecturer at The University of Queensland’s (UQ) School of Public Health. Her research focuses on the social determinants of health and the health and wellbeing of people who are marginalised and experiencing disadvantage. She is currently involved in a number of longitudinal studies working with people who have recently been diagnosed with HIV. Her research draws on mixed-methods, but prioritises qualitative approaches to examine and respond effectively to health system issues facing marginalised and disadvantaged groups. More broadly, she focuses on the integration of formal, informal and community-based health systems to ensure the development of enhanced health care linkages and outcomes for people experiencing disadvantage.
