Dusan Popovic graduated Master of Information systems from University of Belgrade, Serbia in 2008, and Master of Artificial intelligence from KU Leuven, Belgium in 2010. He defended his PhD thesis in Engineering Science entitled "A computational framework for prioritization of disease-causing mutations" in 2014, under supervision of Prof. Bart De Moor. Currently, Dusan Popovic works as a postdoctoral researcher in Stadius Center for Dynamical Systems, Signal Processing and Data Analytics, KU Leuven, Belgium, and his main research interest is focused on clinical and biomedical applications of machine learning technology. He authored and co-authored more than 20 scientific publications, from which several have been published in top-tier journals in the field (Nature Methods, Bioinformatics, etc.). He also participated in many projects in collaboration with industrial partners and assumed a number of other professional duties, including teaching, reviewing of scientific publications and proposals and participation in committees of various symposiums and conferences.
