Hyoung II Lee is a Senior Climate Change Specialist at the World Bank Group. Prior to joining the World Bank Group he had worked for the Ministry of Strategy and Finance in Korea since 1993, and is an expert on monitoring and evaluating on Korea’s economic development as a chief economist of the Ministry and establishing national strategy on short-term stabilization and sustainable long-term growth. Lee also has actively participated in financial reform after economic crisis in 1998 and played a key role of upgrading sovereign rating by stabilizing financial markets during global financial crisis in 2011-12. Lee graduated from Seoul National University and holds a Ph. D in Economics from Texas A&M University. In his role at the World Bank Group he provides technical advisory support to clients and Task Team Leaders mainly on macro/finance and M&E areas of Green Growth planning and implementation.
