Lars Kroll is a PhD candidate at the KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden. He received his B.S. degree in Informatik (Computer Science) from University of Kiel in Germany, and his M.S. degree in Software Engineering of Distributed Systems from KTH. His research interests include large scale distributed storage, and big data processing systems, as well as domain-specific and programming languages for distributed computing. He is the current maintainer of the Kompics component framework, and creator of its Scala DSL, as well as a compiler frontend for a programming language implementation of the Kompics component model.
