Mairi Walker worked as the Mathematics Engagement Officer at The University of Edinburgh from January 2016 until March 2017, and was course lead for Statistics: Unlocking the World of Data during this time. Mairi studied mathematics at The University of Warwick from 2008 to 2012, specialising in the history of mathematics in her final year. She completed her PhD in December 2015 at The Open University, writing her thesis on the interplay between geometry and the theory of numbers. Since leaving the University of Edinburgh, Mairi has worked in secondary school teaching and at the University of Warwick. She is currently involved in the creation of an online mathematics course for UK school-leavers who are undertaking industry placements.
