Michael Brandeis PhD is an associate professor at the Department of Genetics of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel. He has been studying the cell cycle in his lab for more than 20 years and has published dozens of research manuscripts. Prof. Brandeis was a visiting scholar at the Cancer Research UK institute in London and at Stanford University. His most recent research interest focuses on the evolution of sex. Prof. Brandeis teaches a variety of courses to undergraduate and graduate students of all faculties and served as Head of the Biology teaching program at the Hebrew University. Prof. Brandeis travels extensively in Africa and other parts of the world. Taking advantage of his expertise in photography and everything nature he is producing innovative teaching materials. These materials serve to teach and to create awareness among his students and the public to central issues of evolution and conservation.
