Michael Kearney is a mechatronic engineering lecturer with the School of Mechanical and Mining Engineering at UQ. His research involves the application of control and optimization techniques to the disparate areas of mining automation and renewable energy. He studied mechatronics engineering (including a PhD) and mathematics at UQ, and made a brief detour to work on the automation of irrigation channels at The University of Melbourne before returning to UQ.
