Syracuse University’s Online Master of Science in Entrepreneurship

The online Master of Science in Entrepreneurship from Syracuse University’s Martin J. Whitman School of Management prepares current and aspiring entrepreneurs to launch new ventures, manage growing companies or innovate within an organization.

  • Two master’s for less: Gain expertise in two different areas by earning two master’s degrees from the Whitman School.
  • Annual Panasci Business Plan Competition: Online students are welcome to compete for seed funding for a business or idea.

Syracuse University’s Whitman School of Management 

Founded in 1919, the Martin J. Whitman School of Management is today one of the few schools in the U.S. with a formal academic department devoted to entrepreneurship. The Entrepreneurship and Emerging Enterprises (EEE) department provides learners with the tools and business perspective to bring out their creative potential, while the Falcone Center for Entrepreneurship features community initiatives and professional opportunities to spark creativity and entrepreneurial activity.

Tuition and fees

Tuition and fees are subject to change and may increase each academic year. Tuition does not include student fees, technology platform licensing, or support services. Learners are also responsible for travel and accommodation costs related to any in-person immersions or residentials.

30-credit curriculum overview

The curriculum for the online Master of Science in Entrepreneurship program gives learners the tools they need to confidently explore their own paths to entrepreneurial success. Whether learners want to learn to manage organizational resources and processes, or leverage data to understand business challenges and drive innovative solutions, the online program will empower them to forge their own path in entrepreneurship.

The curriculum consists of a total of 30 credit hours and can be completed in as few as 15 months full time. This includes 15 credits of business foundation courses, 12 credits of entrepreneurship core courses and 3 credits for the capstone course. Throughout the program, learners will develop key entrepreneurship skills such as:

  • Evaluating business opportunities: Discover potential opportunities or pitfalls of any given industry and learn to mitigate risks.
  • Securing necessary investment: Explore ways to acquire venture capital, find creative financing options and learn to work alongside investors.

Admissions requirements

Syracuse University’s Martin J. Whitman School of Management seeks learners whose academic abilities can successfully meet the demands of this selective, rigorous graduate program. Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited university and have at least one year of work experience. No GMAT is required to apply. The program accepts applications year round, and offers multiple start dates a year.
