What you will learn
- Commit to the roles and responsibilities of being a new manager
- Communicate effectively with your new team
- Navigate change and manage team dynamics
This three-course program provides those new to management roles with the skills and tools to become exceptional as a manager of people. You’ll learn how to handle the most common management challenges including establishing credibility and trust, running productive meetings, dealing with rule-breakers and stars, giving constructive feedback, building culture, and evaluating performance.
This program stands apart from the countless courses on management in several distinct ways. The class segments are short and mission critical – focusing not on theories and concepts but on those practical skills and tools of most interest and concern to real managers in real organizations. Instruction is largely visual and the goal is for participants to leave each course with a set of tools that they can immediately transfer directly into their management context.
The examples and illustrations are drawn from authentic new managers in real jobs and real situations.
Managing people is a challenging role and becoming exceptional means being a leader who inspires people to be their best. Exceptional means becoming a partner in driving the success of an organization. And exceptional means not sacrificing health and quality of life but rather growing personally and professionally in a management role. Lots of people take on new manager roles but very few are truly exceptional – this course is your pathway to get there.
