Tuition and fees

Tuition and fees are subject to change and may increase each academic year. Tuition does not include student fees, technology platform licensing, or support services. Learners are also responsible for travel and accommodation costs related to any in-person immersions or residentials.

Curriculum

The 128-credit online RN to BSN curriculum prepares RNs to take on higher-level nursing roles across multiple healthcare settings. As a learner in the program, you’ll attend live, face-to-face online classes with expert Simmons faculty, and participate in immersive clinical experiences, all of which will prepare you to:

  • Build greater confidence: As you develop the skills you need to advance your career, you’ll emerge a competent nursing professional in your community. 
  • Become a patient advocate: You’ll learn how to ethically analyze current issues in the healthcare system, so you can better support patient needs. 
  • Provide lifesaving care: By expanding your clinical, humanistic, and evidence-based decision-making skills, you’ll amplify your ability to provide patient-centered care.

Admissions

Simmons University’s application process is intentionally personal and holistic. It’s important that your application shows who you are as an individual, and shows your past academic endeavors and future potential. To complete an application, you will need to submit: 

  • Online application

  • Résumé

  • Personal statement

  • College transcripts (17+ prior college credits required to apply)

  • Proof of high school completion/equivalency

  • Letter of recommendation

Clinical Placements

Clinical placements provide a unique opportunity for learners to build the confidence and skills they need to grow as nursing professionals. As a learner in this program, you will complete 80 hours of immersive clinical placements in a variety of clinical settings in or near your own community — you will dedicate 40 hours to community health and the other 40 hours to leadership and management.
