Curriculum

The curriculum is purposefully designed to provide you with the tools for effective organizational learning and change, and the skills foster an inclusive culture that empowers diverse voices. You’ll learn how to assess structure, resources, and power dynamics, as well as use data to evaluate organizational learning and make ethical decisions.

  • 54 total credits: The curriculum consists of 17 courses, including a capstone project designed to showcase your ability to solve an organizational challenge relevant to your context.
  • Cohort model learning: Collaborate closely with fellow students on class assignments to create strong peer connections and expand your professional network.
  • Human-centered approach: Develop dynamic leadership practices — guided by values of responsible talent development, collaboration, and inclusivity — to help any organization achieve its goals and mission.

Admissions

If you have a genuine interest in leadership and are passionate about empowering others in your organization, this may be the program for you. To apply, you need to have earned a bachelor’s from a credible institution with an undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or higher, and have at least three years of managerial or leadership experience. Applicants with an undergraduate GPA lower than 3.0 will need to provide an explanation regarding their suitability for the program. No GRE or GMAT standardized test scores are required.

Optional in-person immersion

In the spring semester, the Ed.D. in Educational Leadership with a concentration in Organizational Learning and Leadership offers an optional in-person immersion on the iconic University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill campus. This immersion aims to enhance traditional learning by fostering community, connecting students with faculty, and providing exploration opportunities.

The immersion builds a supportive learner community through team-building, discussions, and campus events. Students interact with faculty, explore program opportunities, and connect with leaders in organizational learning and leadership, enriching their academic and professional journeys.
