Tuition and fees

Tuition and fees are subject to change and may increase each academic year. Tuition does not include student fees, technology platform licensing, or support services. Learners are also responsible for travel and accommodation costs related to any in-person immersions or residentials.

Curriculum: graduate-level courses

The 45-credit online SLP curriculum combines clinical research, service-oriented ideals, and real-world competencies that empower you to serve diverse communities facing communication difficulties. You will graduate ready to pursue licensure and to enter the field as a well-prepared, compassionate clinician. You are required to take graduate-level courses and elective courses to complete the program. If you have not completed undergraduate-level courses in speech-language pathology, you may also have to take leveling courses before starting graduate-level courses. The speech pathology master’s online at Baylor University is accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation. Featured graduate-level courses include:

Motor speech disorders: Examine etiologies, symptoms, classifications, evaluative procedures, and treatments of developmental and adult motor speech disorders.
Introduction to aural rehabilitation: Learn methods for rehabilitating persons with hearing impairment, including the use of amplification devices, auditory-visual training, and different modes of communication.
Birth to five language disorders: Study language delay and disorders in children from birth through five years of age, and learn current evidence-based assessment protocols, service delivery methods, and intervention strategies.

Clinical practica and internship

Speech@Baylor’s clinical experiences give you the opportunity to put classroom knowledge into practice.

As a learner in the program, you will complete a total of 400 field hours across three practica and one internship. During these experiences, you will participate in both virtual and in-person client sessions, and provide diagnostics such as treatment plans, lesson plans, and evaluations.

During your clinical experiences, you will receive support from a clinical supervisor who will offer constructive and ongoing feedback as you complete your field hours. During your internship, a placement specialist will work with you to help you find an internship in or near your community.^{Footnote 1}
