This course is presented as a pedagogical space in which learners will learn about the scientific problems that gave rise to the emergence of the ethical meta-principle called scientific integrity (CI). CI or good scientific practices represent the link that unites ethical theories and principles with the researcher's field work. All scientific activity can be carried out in accordance with universal recommendations and standards that, in turn, change as new practices and new ways of understanding science emerge. This complex dynamic means that practices can be carried out in various ways:
- Incorrect forms (deliberate or not), to the detriment of research participants, whether called researchers, project participants or sponsoring institutions,
- Appropriate forms, aligned with principles and respectful of the interests of those involved.
- Questionable forms, which are located in the middle of the previous two, sometimes making it difficult to discriminate whether they benefit, or on the contrary, violate some people's rights.
Scientific integrity provides strategies and resources to enable research processes to all be framed in appropriate ways of doing science.
For this, we will address issues related to prior research agreements, conflicts of interest, appropriate use of data, authorship and other practices related to research products.
Our course will be focused on the demands and challenges that open science brings us.

From the formulation of a research project to the transfer of derived products. The principles that should govern good practice will be made known through a pragmatic pedagogical strategy. Students will learn to guide research towards good scientific practices, through case studies, forums, readings and digital activities. Conceptual elements will be provided that help discriminate bad from good scientific conduct, as well as a wide variety of tools and strategies that help with this purpose.
The course will include new scientific trends that challenge traditional ways of doing research, such as open science.

You do not require any software different from the ones you use daily.

You don't need to have a project running right now, but you do need to have the basics of how to develop one.
