Domenico Parisi
Associate Researcher at Institute of Cognitive Sciences and Technologies
About me
Domenico Parisi works at the Institute of Cognitive Sciences and Technologies of the National Research Council (CNR) in Rome, where he deals with simulations of human behavior and human societies. He was director of the Institute from 1986 to 1994 and taught psychology in various Italian universities and at the University of California at Berkeley. He has published books in Italian and English and, recently, Future Robots: Towards a robotic science of human beings (Amsterdam, Benjamins). His main research interests are the development of simulation models of individual and social behaviors through neural networks, genetical algorithms and models of artificial life; their philosophical and cultural implications (with regards to the impact of technology on the human mind and the cultural and political evolution of societies) and their applications in the fields of education, entertainment and divulgation.
