Mawabo Msingaphantsi

Mawabo Msingaphantsi is an associate lecturer at the University of the Witwatersrand, where he teaches urban design theory and runs a studio on environmental interpretation & graphic communication. He has a Masters in Urban Design and a Bachelor’s degree (Hons) in Urban and Regional planning, and is currently completing his PhD. His professional experience includes projects such as the Soweto Theatre Precinct and the non-motorised transport (NMT) component of the Tswane BRT. Prior to joining the University, Mawabo was as part of the Gauteng Provincial Treasury’s Client Support Unit, which is responsible for assisting state organs with procurement related decisions. His specialty within the unit was the drafting of specifications for infrastructure (and other built environment) related projects.
