Ruthie Chen Ousley

Ruthie Chen Ousley is the national Director of STEM at Teach For America, where she works with programmatic innovations and external partners to curate the organizational point of view on excellence in science/engineering and math instruction, and the application of that vision to science and math teacher training, support, and development. She received her BS with distinction from the American Chemical Society in Chemistry (with minors in Biology and Visual Studies) from Duke University, and her M.S.T. in Secondary Science Education (concentration in Chemistry) from Fordham University. Ruthie brings her professional experiences in leadership development, consulting, teaching, and coaching to bear on her work impacting the experience of hundreds of novice science teachers annually, and in turn, thousands of young people who will ensure America’s next generation of STEM leaders is radically diverse.
