Avishek Majumder

Avishek is an experienced Research Engineer from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, specializing in Deep Learning. His primary research focus has been towards object segmentation & object detection. He has effectively developed several novel methods to segment objects from images and videos.

Avishek has authored a paper in a highly competitive, prestigious Tier 1 peer-reviewed conference. His paper will be published in Deep Vision @ CVPR 2019. Apart from that, he has published two other papers in NCVPRIG, during my stay at IISc.

Avishek was employed with Pikup, where he strengthened his deep learning skills in the retail field. He has primarily worked with overhead cameras to detect objects and estimate poses. In addition, he has also worked with various embedded (Edge) devices, such as Jetson Nano, Google Coral Edge TPU, Google Coral Board, Ti mmWave Sensor and Raspberry Pi, to develop and deploy deep learning models on the edge.

Apart from that, he had the opportunity to work in Singapore for an internationally recognized firm, Works Application Singapore PTE Ltd, where he has been closely associated with developing high-performance algorithms for processing large amounts of data from relational databases.
