Bill Northfield

Bill Northfield is an independent consultant on public debt management. Since 2015, he has worked as a short-term expert on technical assistance missions for the IMF's Debt Capital Markets Division, Monetary and Capital Markets Department. Prior to working with the IMF, he was a Managing Director and Head of Sovereign, Supranational and Agency Originations at Deutsche Bank in London, where he had worked since 1993. With James Knight, in 2020 he co-authored an IMF Working Paper on Sovereign Investor Relations. A specialist in debt transparency, government and international bond markets, and investor relations, he holds an MBA from London Business School and a BA (Honors) in History from Colby College (Maine, USA).
