About Me
Professor Briggs co-directs the Business Operations Consulting Workshop, where he works to prepare a select group of students for careers in business advisory services. Prior to this role he led the MBA Supply Chain Management Academy and established the Supply Chain Consulting Practicum. His area of expertise is in process improvement—particularly in the area of strategic sourcing, project management, and leadership development. He has trained hundreds of business professionals in areas including project management, process improvement, Lean Six Sigma, value analysis/engineering, supply base rationalization, total cost of ownership, inventory management, and effective contract management. He has advised leaders and worked with executives and boards of directors in diversified global manufacturing, energy (production, distribution and systems operators), and life sciences (pharmaceutical, medical devices and integrated healthcare delivery networks.) His consulting practice focuses on coaching and advising executive leaders, as well as preparing high-potential contributors for increased leadership responsibilities.
Though Professor Briggs routinely travels around the world teaching, lecturing and working with corporations in pursuit of excellence, he enjoys his home in Bloomington which he shares with his lovely wife of thirty-one years, Annette, two golden retrievers, and seventeen chickens (give or take). They have three wonderful children, Mariah, Ben and Emily, who are each doing wonderful things in the world.
