About me

Daan Huybrechs (PhD in Engineering Sciences, 2006) is a professor at KU Leuven in the Department of Computer Science. His research revolves around scientific computing and the numerical simulation of wave phenomena, using integral equation and differential equation methods. Since 2020 Daan is program director of the Master of Science in Mathematical Engineering at KU Leuven. He is strongly involved in teaching mathematics and applied mathematics to students in engineering and sciences at various levels of their education. Throughout his career Daan was awarded several prizes, including the Richard C DiPrima award for his phd thesis, a New Talent Award, and a Leslie Fox prize in Numerical Analysis.
