About me

Dr. Man-Sing Charles WONG received his M.Phil. and Ph.D. in Remote Sensing and GIS from the Department of Land Surveying and Geo-Informatics, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2005 and 2009 respectively. In 2006-2007, he was a Fulbright junior scholar with the Earth System Science Interdisciplinary Center, the University of Maryland, College Park. He is the official site manager for the NASA’s AERONET station in Hong Kong. In 2014, he has received an Early Career Award from the Hong Kong Research Grants Council and a Dean’s Award for Outstanding Achievement in Research Funding in 2016. He has been working in various projects including the use of Remote Sensing to study urban heat island effect, urban environmental quality, landslides, vegetation and ecosystems, spectral mixture analysis, aerosol retrieval, air quality, and dust storm monitoring. He has received numerous of research, teaching and learning projects. Moreover, Dr. WONG has published 74 SCI journal publications since 2005.
