Secretary at Working Group on Passive Safety
Mr. Edoardo Gianotti holds a degree in Political Science from the University of Turin (Italy) and a Master's from the University of London in Sustainable Development and Environmental Economics. He has four language proficiency certificates from the United Nations in French, English, Spanish and Russian. He has spent more than 24 years in the field of vehicle regulation. He has gained experience in the field of private and international organizations. Since 2006, he has been a staff member of the UNECE World Forum for Harmonization of Vehicle Regulations (WP.29). In this framework, he covered multiple tasks as secretary of the Working Group on Lighting and Signaling (GRE), General Safety (GRSG), Noise (GRB), coordinator of the intelligent transport system, and leader of the project "Intelligent Transport Systems for Sustainable Mobility". He is currently covering the task as secretary of the WP.29 Working Group on Passive Safety and is the UNECE focal point of the 1998 Global Agreement on Global Technical Regulations on Wheeled Vehicles and Equipment. He is also the focal point of WP.29 on the third pillar "Safer Vehicles" of the Global Plan for the Decade of Action for Road Safety 2011-2020.
