Erdong Zhao is an professor in Management and Economics School in Beijing Institute of Technology. He has a BA and MA in history from Jilin University and a PhD in economics from Wuhan University in China. From 2010 to 2011, he worked as a research fellow at Harvard's Kennedy school of Government.
He was the National Excellent Video Open Course Award winner for his course “Power of Communication” by China’s Ministry of Education in 2014. This course was also selected to be NETEASE Video Open Course in 2015 and had ranked top ten in views for eight consecutive months. By the end of May 2020, over 200,000 had studied this course online. In addition, amongst 18,000 participants from 1,400 universities in China, he also won the first prize of Online Micro-lecture Teaching Contest of National Universities held by China’s Ministry of Education for the course ”Personality and Occupational Choices” in 2015.
