Felipe Zanna

Senior Economist at International Monetary Fund

About me

Mr. Felipe Zanna is a senior economist of the European and Middle Eastern Division in the IMF Institute for Capacity Development. Previously, he held positions in the Research Department and the Strategy, Policy, and Review Department of the IMF. Before joining the Fund in 2006, he worked as an economist in the International Finance Division of the U.S. Federal Reserve Board. He has a Ph.D. in Economics from University of Pennsylvania and undergraduate and master’s degrees from Universidad de Los Andes (Colombia). He has published articles on public investment and debt sustainability, the implications for macroeconomic stability of monetary and exchange rate policy rules, the macroeconomic management of aid and natural resource windfalls, and the implications of robots for growth and inequality. His current research agenda is in the areas of fiscal policy rules and the implications of structural transformation for the design of monetary policy rules in developing countries.
