
Clinical Professor in Paediatric Dentistry at The University of Hong Kong
Prof Gloria Hai Ming WONG, DDS, MDSc, AdvDipPaediatrDent, PhD, MPaedDentRCSEd, MRACDS (Paed), FCDSHK (Paed Dent), FHKAM (Dental Surgery), FDSRCSEd, FDTRCSEd, is a Clinical Professor in Paediatric Dentistry, Faculty of Dentistry, University of Hong Kong (HKU). She has been the Assistant Dean (Research and Innovation), and Discipline Coordinator and Undergraduate Programme Director in Paediatric Dentistry of the Faculty. She is also the Clinic Manager of Paediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics Clinic of the Prince Philip Dental Hospital, and the Honorary Consultant in Oral Maxillofacial Surgery & Dental Surgery of the Duchess of Kent Children’s Hospital and the Queen Mary Hospital, Hong Kong.
Dr Wong has served as External Reviewer for the Australian Dental Research Foundation, and Examiner for the Tri-collegiate Specialty Membership Examination in Paediatric Dentistry, UK. She is Associate Editor for BMC Pediatrics, and Editorial Board Member for Scientific Reports and European Archives of Paediatric Dentistry. As the Principal Investigator, Dr Wong has procured 11 external peer-reviewed competitive research grants. She has supervised 4 Postdoctoral fellows, 21 PhD students and numerous MDS and BDS students for their research projects. These accomplishments have resulted in more than 150 international refereed papers, the 98th IADR Colgate Research in Prevention Award, the 28th IADR SEA Research Category Award, the 27th IAPD Morita Award - Research, the 22nd and 23rd SEAADE Best Poster Presentation Awards, and the first ever HKU Knowledge Exchange Excellence Award for promoting oral health in rural areas of Asia and Africa.
