José de Luna Martínez

Jose De Luna Martinez is a Senior Financial Sector Expert at the International Monetary Fund (IMF). From 2018 to 2021 he served as Deputy Undersecretary for Public Credit and International Affairs at the Ministry of Finance of Mexico. In that capacity, he was responsible for managing Mexico’s sovereign debt. He worked at the World Bank for 17 years; his last role was Lead Financial Sector Specialist for East Asia. Early in his career, he worked at the National Bank and Securities Commission of Mexico. He holds a PhD in Political Economy from the Free University of Berlin and a BA in Public Administration from El Colegio de Mexico.
