Professor Karin Lasthuizen is the inaugural Brian Picot Chair in Ethical Leadership at Victoria Business School, Victoria University of Wellington.
The Brian Picot Chair in Ethical Leadership was established to train, research and support communities of interest to improve the practice of ethical leadership in business, government and civic society organisations throughout New Zealand.
Karin’s expertise is in research on ethical leadership and ethics management and she specialises in methodology for research into integrity violations and organisational misbehaviour, such as corruption and fraud. She co-authored the textbook Ethics and Management in the Public Sector with Alan Lawton and Julie Rayner and has written numerous publications in national and international journals and books.
Karin grew up in the Netherlands. She has held various senior research and policy positions, and most recently was an associate professor in leadership and ethics management at VU University Amsterdam.
