Professor and Head Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at KU Leuven and University Hospitals Leuven
Prof. Dr. Koen Peers is head of the department Physical & Rehabilitation Medicine (PRM) at the University Hospitals Leuven in Belgium. He is also head of Sports Medical Advice Centre (SMAC) at KU Leuven. Furthermore, he is program director Sports Medicine KU Leuven, former president of the Royal Belgian Society of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine (RBSPRM), coördinator internship supervisor PRM, chairman accrediting committee PRM and board member steering committee OH Leuven/KU Leuven.
He is clinically active at UZ Leuven and SMAC in managing sport injuries in recreational and elite athletes including counseling for professional and national teams in Belgium. His research is focused on tendon and ligament disorders.
