Lyle Denniston has been covering the Supreme Court for sixty years and has been called the Dean of Supreme Court Journalists. In that time, he has covered one out of every five of the Justices ever to sit, and he has reported on the entire careers on the bench of fifteen of the Justices. He has been a journalist of the law for 70 years, beginning that career at the Otoe County Courthouse in Nebraska City, Nebraska, in the fall of 1948. In addition to regularly writing dispatches on the law on LyleDenLawNews.com, Lyle is a visiting professor at the University of Baltimore Law School. There, he delivered a series of lectures on the Supreme Court and American Politics that were the inspiration for this course.
