Mourad Laabdi مراد العبدي

Dr. Mourad Laabdi is an assistant professor of Islamic Culture in the College of Sharia and Islamic Studies at Qatar University. He holds a PhD in Religious Studies from the University of Toronto and two MA degrees in Cultural Analysis from the University of Amsterdam and Cultural Studies from Université Mohamed Ben Abdellah in Fes. Dr. Laabdi‘s research interest focuses on premodern Islamic intellectual history, especially juristic disagreement and social construction of religious diversity in premodern Muslim societies. His work appears in several international journals, including the Oxford Journal of Islamic Studies , Islam and Muslim-Christian Relations , and the American Journal of Islam and Society.
