Nicole Hall

Assistant Professor School of Nursing at Salisbury University

About me

My name is Dr. Nicole Hall and I have worked in healthcare since graduating with my Bachelor's in Nursing in 2003 from Salisbury University. After graduation, I worked in the maternity setting caring for moms and their babies for eight years while also pursuing both my Master's in Business and in Nursing.

In 2011, I moved into academia when I began teaching in a diploma-based nursing school. I then worked for two years in the quality department at a hospital, which is where my interest in speaking up began because I saw how one's willingness to speak up could impact patient safety. Eventually, I chose to pursue my doctoral degree knowing that academia was where I wanted to be long-term, and I made speaking up the focus of my dissertation.

I graduated with my Doctorate of Education in Leadership and Management from Drexel University and then returned to Salisbury University where I currently teach in both the undergraduate and graduate nursing programs. I have been blessed to have my research on speaking up published through an article in Nursing Management with nine other international and local presentations.
