Oliver Hofmann

About me

Oliver Hofmann is the Head of Bioinformatics at the Wolfson Wohl Cancer Research Centre and a Reader in Bioinformatics at the University of Glasgow. Oliver worked in a molecular biology wetlab environment before switching to natural language processing, database development and curation as part of his PhD thesis, eventually branching out to sequence clustering and pattern recognition as a visiting researcher at deCODE Genetics. His work as a postdoctoral fellow at the South African National Bioinformatics Institute focused on data integration, second-generation sequencing data management and network analysis before moving to the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health as a Senior Research Scientist in the Department of Biostatistics and Director of the Bioinformatics Core.
