Clinical Assistant Professor in Paediatric Dentistry at The University of Hong Kong
Dr Phoebe Lam, BDS (HKU), MDS (HKU), MPaed Dent (RCSEd) is a Clinical Assistant Professor in Paediatric Dentistry, Faculty of Dentistry, University of Hong Kong (HKU). She is undergoing specialist training in Paediatric Dentistry in Hong Kong. As a higher trainee, she works as an honorary dental officer in the HKU Institute for Advanced Dentistry Multi-Specialty Clinic, Duchess of Kent Children’s Hospital and the Queen Mary Hospital, Hong Kong. She previously also treated patients in charitable organizations and in private practice.
Dr Lam continues to pursue PhD in HKU since 2020, and have already published a number of research articles in top dental scientific journals. Her research interests focus on preventive interventions among children and those with special needs. Her research has won the 27th International Association of Paediatric Dentistry Morita Award – Research.
Dr Lam is also passionate in promoting oral health to the less-privileged and those with special-needs. She has been actively leading and organizing service campaigns and dental outreach in Hong Kong and the developing world since 2013. Her team has won 7 HKU SERVICE 100 Fund (incorporating the Student KE Project Grant), Stephen H Y Wei Award in Paediatric Dentistry 2016, HKU KE Impact Project Funding and the first ever HKU Knowledge Exchange Excellence Award for their service projects across the globe, including Hong Kong, Mainland China, Cambodia and Uganda.
