Ruth Weissman, Ph.D. is Professor of Psychology and Walter A. Crowell University Professor of the Social Sciences, Emerita, at Wesleyan University. Professor Weissman is an internationally recognized authority on eating disorders and the editor-in-chief of the leading journal in the field, the International Journal of Eating Disorders. She has been honored with several professional awards for her leadership in research. Professor Weissman is a founding member, Fellow and Past-President of the Academy for Eating Disorders and a Past-President of the Eating Disorders Research Society. Professor Weissman also is an expert by experience as the grand-niece and the sister of individuals with diagnoses of anorexia nervosa.
