Shiho Takai is an Associate Professor of Japanese Literature at the School of Culture, Media and Society and Graduate School of Letters, Arts and Sciences at Waseda University. She received her BA in British Studies from the University of Tokyo in 2004, MA in Japanese Literature from Washington University in St. Louis in 2006, and Ph.D. in Japanese Literature from Columbia University in 2015.
