Dr. Lim qualified in Dentistry from the Faculty of Dentistry, the University of Malaya in 2006. He was a MoHE scholar for his full-time specialist training in Prosthodontics (Master of Clinical Dentistry) at the Dental Institute at Guy's Hospital, King's College London, and passed with full marks in the Membership in Prosthodontics Examination, Royal College of Surgeon, Edinburgh in 2012. He later obtained a Fellowship in Advanced Periodontology and Implantology from the University of Genova, Italy in 2016. In 2019, he received the IDCMR scholarship for the Faculty Exchange Programme of Prosthodontics at Mahidol University, Thailand.

Dr. Lim is currently a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Division of Restorative Dental Sciences, Faculty of Dentistry, the University of Hong Kong. He worked as an Associate Professor in Prosthodontics at Universiti Teknologi MARA, Malaysia before joining the University of Hong Kong. In addition, he is an accredited specialist in Prosthodontics registered with the National Specialist Register and Academy of Medicine. He is the former President of the Malaysian Association of Aesthetic Dentistry (2020-2021), Assistant Secretary of the Asian Academy of Aesthetic Dentistry (2018-2021), and Council Member of the Malaysian Association for Prosthodontics (2019-2021).

Dr. Lim was invited to present and conduct many lectures and workshops in the Asia region (Hong Kong, Thailand, Vietnam, Philippines, Indonesia, and Malaysia). He has 26 international and national awards for teaching and learning. In addition, he has won 11 awards at various International Invention, Innovation & Design Expositions. He has more than 50 peer-reviewed publications and conference proceedings, editor of 1 fixed prosthodontic book, and has 13 book chapters supporting these and other themes. Also, he is a principal investigator and co- investigator in 7 national and university research grants.
