Hjalti Snær Ægisson

About me
Hjalti Snær Ægisson is a Ph.D. candidate and sessional teacher of Comparative Literature. He teaches introductory courses on World Literature. He has co-edited two books: Að Skilja Undraljós (Reykjavík: University of Iceland Press, 2011), a collection of articles on Icelandic writer Þórbergur Þórðarson (1888-1974), and Latína er List Mæt (Reykjavík: University of Iceland Press, 2014), a collection of writings on Icelandic Neo-Latin Literature. Ægisson's scholarly interest centers on translations and re-workings of Latin culture in an Icelandic context. He has translated two modern novels from Italian and is currently working on a translation of De Studiis Classicis, an 1871 essay by Icelandic poet Benedikt Gröndal (1826-1907).
