Paul Piwek

Dr Paul Piwek leads the AI & NLP group at the Open University (OU) in the School of Computing & Communications and is a Senior Fellow of Advance Higher Education. He teaches both undergraduate and postgraduate computing modules, as well as having developed a popular free course on digital thinking tools. He is principal investigator of the OU’s Societal Challenges research project on Digital Thinking Tools for Education and Depolarisation and before that led the Opening Up Minds project funded by the UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) programme on Responsible Natural Language Processing for Intelligent Interfaces. His commitment to the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning is demonstrated by winning the 2023 eSTEeM Best Scholarship of the Year project.
