Curriculum

The online Master of Health Administration program is designed to provide current and aspiring healthcare administrators with the essential skills and knowledge required for successful leadership in the complex and dynamic healthcare industry. As a student, you will be equipped to lead financially sustainable healthcare organizations that deliver high-quality care, and maintain compliance with legal and ethical standards.

The MHA’s comprehensive 36-credit curriculum covers six key areas of study that will result in a well-rounded skill set in advanced healthcare leadership and management. Some of those key areas include:

  • Management functions and skills for healthcare leaders:

    Develop business and marketing strategies to position your organization, attract patients and respond to market demands while maintaining quality care.

  • Leadership and professionalism:

    Learn how you can create a positive organizational culture and drive performance improvements.

  • Health systems and the community:

    Monitor and improve healthcare outcomes while considering the needs of all communities.

  • Health equity:

    Ensure healthcare services are accessible and culturally competent for all patient populations.

While you are enrolled in the MHA program, you will also have the opportunity to pursue discounted or no-cost healthcare certifications and memberships which can help you stand out in a competitive field. Our academic and industry partnerships include but are not limited to:

  • American College of Medical Practice Executives (ACMPE): Pursue board certification with the ACMPE.

  • National Association of Health Services Executives (NAHSE): Become a member of the Greater Boston chapter of the NAHSE. Our collaboration with the Greater Boston NAHSE offers our Black and Brown students opportunities for employment, and skill development and membership benefits.
