Curriculum
Modeled after UC Davis’ highly regarded MBA program, the online Master of Management curriculum equips you with a strong foundation in the functional areas of business, such as accounting, economics, finance, marketing and strategy.
The 36-unit curriculum is composed of nine courses, taken in a particular order. You can earn your Master of Management in just 15 months, 100% online.

Tuition for the online Master of Management program as of the 2023–24 academic year is $1,385 per unit, with a total of 36 units. The total estimated tuition is $49,860. A $1,000 deposit is required upon enrollment, which will be applied to your first quarter tuition. Please note that tuition does not include out-of-pocket expenses such as books, additional course materials or other fees. Learners can expect a moderate tuition increase each year.
There are a number of resources that may be available to help you finance your degree program. Resources may include federal tuition assistance, private loans, employer tuition assistance, scholarships and veteran benefits.
Federal Student Aid
Follow these steps to apply for Federal Student Aid:
Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA ) electronically using your Federal Student Aid (FSA) ID.
Select the appropriate academic year
Include the UC Davis school code: 001313.
Note: The FAFSA must be submitted each academic year in order to remain eligible for Federal Student Aid.
If you wish to receive the Federal Direct Unsubsidized Loan, you must complete Entrance Counseling and electronically sign the Master Promissory Note (MPN) at Studentaid.gov .
Both the Entrance Counseling and MPN must be completed in order for funds to be disbursed to your student account at UC Davis.
If you have previously borrowed Federal student loans, be sure to update your lender(s) with contact information and enrollment status (for loan deferment purposes).

Evaluate your need for additional funding such as the Federal Direct Graduate PLUS Loan through the Department of Education, or private education loans through various lenders of your choice.
Note: The Federal Direct Graduate PLUS Loan is credit-based. Please visit Studentaid.gov for detailed information regarding PLUS Loan credit requirements.
Prior to borrowing through the Federal Direct Graduate PLUS Loan program, you may need to review your credit reports for potential issues. Contact any of the following credit bureaus for information: Experian , Equifax , or TransUnion .
The Federal Direct Graduate PLUS Loan credit decision expires within 180 days from applying.
The maximum amount that you can borrow is up to the Cost of Attendance at UC Davis.
Once you have made the decision to apply for the Federal Direct Graduate PLUS Loan, complete the PLUS Loan Application for graduate/professional students.
If approved for the Federal Direct Graduate PLUS Loan, you must complete a separate Direct PLUS Loan MPN for Graduate/Professional students.
If denied the Federal Direct Graduate PLUS Loan, you may re-apply with a co-signer (endorser) or appeal the denial through the Department of Education.
Once enrolled, students should check MyAwards to view their UC Davis aid package and requirements for the upcoming year.

UC Davis scholarships
All candidates are considered for merit-based scholarships based on their admissions application. Applicants also have the opportunity to apply for donor and fellowship scholarships. The UC Native American Opportunity Plan (NAOP) provides financial aid support for California students enrolled in state supported programs who are also enrolled in federally recognized Native American, American Indian and Alaska Native tribes. The Online MM program is not a state supported program. However, for the Online MM Program, the Graduate School of Management has committed to provide an equivalent financial aid program. For students entering Academic Year 2023-2024, eligible Online MBA students will receive a scholarship of $13,500* in total to be allocated over the course of their program. Note that the NAOP is a guaranteed minimum of financial aid. Financial awards will not be added if a student has an existing scholarship package that exceeds the NAOP commitment. Students must submit the eligibility affidavit and documentation on the UC Davis Financial Aid and Scholarships website to confirm eligibility. Admissions
The UC Davis Graduate School of Management Admissions Committee reviews applications holistically, evaluating your academic potential, professional promise and personal qualities. The online Master of Management program does not require full-time professional work experience, but be sure to highlight internships, volunteer efforts and any work experience you do have.
To be considered for admission, you must hold a bachelor’s degree from a U.S. regionally accredited institution or the international equivalent. To determine if your degree program meets our requirements, review the expected level of study for international students .
GMAT/GRE scores are optional, but you may choose to submit them to demonstrate your quantitative abilities. The admissions committee may require some applicants to complete and pass a course in quantitative fundamentals (at no cost) before they can register for classes. To be successful in the online Master of Management program, you will need to have a certain level of ability in quantitative areas such as statistics and analytics.
You can demonstrate your quantitative ability by meeting any one of the following criteria:
GMAT/GRE with a quantitative score of 50% or higher
Cumulative undergraduate grade point average (GPA) of 3.2 or higher (or the equivalent if another grading scale is used) in a quantitative area, including business administration, economics, engineering, biological sciences, information and computer science, health sciences or physical sciences
Graduate (master’s or doctoral) degree or professional credential such as Certified Public Accountant or Certified Financial Analyst
Five or more years of post-undergraduate professional work experience
Four or more years of military experience
If the admissions committee determines that you do not have a sufficient quantitative background, you may still be admitted to the program but will need to take and pass a quantitative preparation course before you can begin classes. The course is self-paced, and is offered from UC Davis at no cost.
If you take the GRE, use the school code 7887. If you take the GMAT, enter “Davis” into the search bar, and select “University of California- Davis (Master of Management, Online)”. The institutional code for the GMAT is B1S-VF-81.
For admissions review, you must submit unofficial copies of transcripts from all academic institutions you attended, even if you did not earn a degree there or if transfer credits are listed on another school’s transcript. (This includes all University of California campuses.) If you are extended an offer of admission, you will need to submit official transcripts before the registration of first quarter courses for your acceptance to be finalized.

Transcript evaluations for international applicants: If your transcripts or academic records are in a language other than English, BOTH the original language documents and English translations must be submitted. Any of the following translation resources are acceptable:

If the degree conferral information is not on the transcript, please include proof of the earned degree (for example, a copy of your diploma and/or degree certificate). If your university includes a grading scale on your academic record explaining their grading system, you must include that as well.
Essay 1: Professional goals (required) — Pursuing a Master of Management is a catalyst for personal and professional growth. Help us get to know you by sharing your background, including academic and professional highlights. What are your post-master’s goals? Elaborate on short- and long-term career objectives. (350 word maximum)
Essay 2: Conditional essay — Please submit a second essay if any of the following conditions apply:
Your undergraduate GPA is less than 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale, or its equivalent if not on a 4.0 scale).
You have experienced hardship or adversity that has affected your academic performance.
You have been subject to academic discipline, placed on probation, suspended, dismissed, or otherwise required to withdraw from any college or university for any reason.
In this essay, share more information on what took place, and explain any contributing or extenuating factors the Admissions Committee should know. Please explain what you have done since this time to improve your academic aptitude and overall candidacy. (200 word maximum)
Submit a résumé or CV to show your employment history, including any internships, volunteer work and part-time experience. Internships and/or part-time work experience are recommended but not required for admission.
Two letters of recommendation are required. Your recommenders should be able to comment objectively about your qualifications. Ideally, at least one letter should be from a professional reference, but you may use two academic references if needed. You will submit their contact information through the online application, and the recommenders will upload their recommendation letters separately.
If English is not your first language, you must submit official English language examination scores. You are exempt from this requirement if you have earned (or will be earning) a bachelor’s, master’s or doctoral degree from either:
A regionally accredited U.S. college or university where English is the sole language of instruction, OR
A foreign college or university that provides instruction solely in English. UC Davis Graduate School of Management will only approve waivers for foreign colleges and universities that list English as the sole language of instruction in the IAU World Higher Education Database. We will not review or accept any other documentation.
In all other cases, you must submit scores demonstrating your proficiency. There are two standardized tests you may take: the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) assessment.
TOEFL iBT (Test of English as a Foreign Language)
The UC Davis Graduate School of Management accepts the TOEFL iBT exam (in-person or at-home).
The minimum score required for admissions is 105. The institution code is 4834, and the department code is 02. For more information on TOEFL, please contact: Educational Testing Service (ETS) at 609-771-7100. We accept TOEFL scores from tests administered by the Educational Testing Service and sent to us directly by the TOEFL office.
Note: UC Davis Graduate School of Management does not accept TOEFL MyBest scores, TOEFL ITP Plus, or TOEFL Essentials examinations at this time.
IELTS (International English Language Testing System)
The UC Davis Graduate School of Management also accepts the IELTS Academic (in-person) and IELTS indicator (online) exams. You can submit scores from the Academic Modules of the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) administered by the British Council worldwide.
The minimum band score requirement for admissions is 7.5. UC Davis Graduate School of Management Online MM Program is registered to receive IELTS Academic and IELTS Indicator scores using the IELTS Results Service E-Delivery, so please send your score report to: University of California Davis Graduate School of Management Online.
TOEFL and IELTS exam scores are valid for two years from the date the test was taken. Scores that expire before the start of classes for the current admissions year may be used in your application only if the official score report is received in our office prior to its expiration. It is your duty to confirm with the admissions office receipt of your official test score prior to its expiration.

2U collects information from you when you choose to provide it to us. For example, we collect your information when you submit a webform requesting information about 2U-powered programs, or otherwise contact us or provide information to us through the Website. We use de-identified, aggregate or anonymized information to help us analyze the use of the Website. How We Disclose Your Information
2U shares your information with other entities or individuals in the following limited circumstances:
The School: We may share your information with the relevant School in order to provide the Program, track your participation in the Program, and/or fulfill our contracted responsibilities to the School. Once we share your personal information with the School, 2U does not maintain control over the School’s use of your personal information. We also share de-identified, aggregate, pseudonymous or anonymous information with the School for their own research and analytics purposes. The School’s use of your information is subject to its privacy policy.
2U, Inc. and its affiliates: Where you have expressed interest or given your consent, we share your information with 2U, Inc.’s affiliated companies to provide you with information about other educational programs.
Service Providers: We share your information with third parties that provide business, professional, or technical support functions for us. In particular, we use third-party providers for website hosting, maintenance, marketing services, courier services, certification services, business operations, payment services, and identity verification services (“Service Providers”). These Service Providers are only given access to your information to the extent necessary to process your information and/or provide services to 2U, and they are prohibited from using or sharing your information for any other purposes. Where permitted by law, 2U discloses limited information about you to Service Providers to serve relevant advertising on third party platforms to you or to other audiences.
Your Employer or Sponsor or their Designee: We share your information with your employer or sponsor, or someone designated by them, in the event that such third-party is paying for your Program. Information disclosed in this case shall include Program performance information, unless otherwise expressly agreed in writing with 2U.
Potential Employers: Where you choose to work with our career services team, we will share your information with potential employers. Information disclosed in this case shall include your resume, employer-ready materials that you prepare (e.g., your portfolio), your LinkedIn profile, or other information that you make available to 2U.
Legal Matters; Safety: We access or share your information to satisfy any applicable law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request; in connection with an investigation on matters related to public safety; as permitted by law; or otherwise as required by law. We disclose your information to protect the security of the Program, the Website, servers, network systems, and databases. We also disclose your information, as necessary, if we believe that there has been a violation of our Terms of Use (including investigation of potential violations thereof), any other legal document or contract related to the Website, or the rights of any third party.
Fraud; Security: We access and disclose your information to detect, prevent, or otherwise address fraud, security or other technical issues.
Consent; Other: We share information with third parties when we have your consent or otherwise as described to you at the point of collection.
Sale or Transfer of Business or Assets: 2U may sell or purchase assets during the normal course of our business. If another entity acquires us or any of our assets, information we have collected about you may be transferred to such entity.
