What is International Law?

International law includes all of the rules and treaties between nations that shape how governments interact on a global scale. Rules governing international aviation, international shipping, international trade, international conflict, international environmental law, human rights and humanitarian aid are all part of international law. The types of international law include public international law, private international law and supranational law and most international laws are consent-based where governments sign on and agree to abide by a set of rules and regulations.
