David’s primary research area is in the area of managing service quality. His consulting work focuses on service quality, the development of performance-based incentive programs and organizational reviews. He came to the University of Queensland directly from the industry, most recently from Brett's Wharf in Brisbane where he served as the general manager for five years. Prior to arriving in Australia from USA, David had been involved in the restaurant/club industry since 1985. David holds a Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management from Florida International University in Miami, Florida, USA (graduated Summa Cum Laude). In addition to his accomplished career in the hospitality industry, David continues to work as an advisor to a number of high-profile hospitality organizations in Southeast Queensland. He also holds a Master of Science in Hotel and Food Service Management from the same university. David completed his PhD research in 2006.
