Juan S. Blyde

Lead Economist of the Integration and Trade Sector at the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB). His areas of research have been on trade and firm productivity, trade and transport costs, and international value chains. He received his PhD in Economics from the University of Colorado at Boulder, and a BS in Economics from Universidad Católica Andrés Bello in Venezuela. Before, he worked as an economist at the Congressional Economic and Financial Advisory Office of Venezuela. His research has been published in various academic journals such as Journal of International Economics, Review of International Economics, International Economic Journal and Review of World Economics, among others. He is author of the book “Synchronized Factories” (2014).
