Nicoleta Serban is an Associate Professor in the School of Industrial and Systems Engineering at Georgia Tech. She received her Ph.D. and M.S. in Statistics from Carnegie Mellon University. Dr. Serban's current research crosses multiple disciplines including methodological statistics, healthcare and industrial engineering. Her research has been published in 45+ journal articles, many in top journals in statistics, engineering, and health services or medical research. She has also co-authored a book titled Understanding and Managing the Complexity of Healthcare. Dr. Serban is currently an Editor of Annals of Applied Statistics, a leading journal in applied statistics. She has taught multiple graduate courses at Georgia Tech, including Advanced Statistical Modeling, Nonparametric Statistics, Regression Analysis, Time Series Analysis, and Theoretical Statistics.
