This course will help you understand how businesses create value, how to think with financials in mind and how to use financial information in business decision-making. We will start with the basics of financial statements and move to the conceptual framework of financial information and its relationship to industry, firms’ strategic positioning, and strategy execution.

Xing XiaoXing Xiao is the chair and associate professor at the Department of Accounting, School of Economics and Management, Tsinghua University. She teaches courses including Financial Analysis and Decision Making, Accounting Theory, and Accounting and Finance Issues in China’s Capital Market. She also teaches Accounting in EMBA program and Financial Management in Executive Development program. She received her B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, and B.B.A. in Corporate Finance and Accounting from Tsinghua University in 1994, M.A. in Corporate Finance and Accounting from Tsinghua University in 1997, and Ph.D. in Accounting from Tsinghua University in 2004.
