About me

Professor and Director of the Centre for Intercultural and Migration Studies in the Department of Primary Education at the University of Crete. Her research focuses on three main issues: sociolinguistic dimensions of bilingualism (e.g. language contact phenomena such as ‘codeswitching’/’translanguaging’, language shift/maintenance, family language policies, heritage languages, etc.), pedagogical approaches to diversity in the classroom, and Greek as a second and heritage language (teaching approaches and materials). She has participated in various research and teacher education projects and has published on issues of minority language maintenance and inclusive/empowering approaches to education with regard to bilingual students.
