About me

Ben is a Professor in Volcanology and Earth Science Education Research at the University of Canterbury. He has Masters and PhD from McGill University Canada in volcanology, and also worked as a volcanologist at the University of British Columbia, and Munich University (LMU). Ben is an award winning teacher with a passion for volcanoes and internationally recognized as a leader in developing innovative educational resources. Ben’s favourite thing in the world is to explore volcanoes in the field.
