About me

Dr. Ian Shrier is an internationally recognized sport medicine physician, researcher and educator. He is a past-President of the Canadian Academy of Sport and Exercise Medicine and serves as consulting medical director for Cirque du Soleil. He has won several awards for teaching and presentations in both Physiology and Medicine, and has appeared on the Discovery Channel, Spike Television, and CNN. He has been interviewed by leading newspapers (including the New York Times, Wall Street Week and Runner’s World), and radio stations (including the BBC, Australian Broadcasting Corporation, ESPN, and CBS Evening News) on multiple sport medicine topics. He has over 200 peer-reviewed publications and book chapters, is co-Editor-in-Chief of the scientific journal “Research Synthesis Methods”, and is an editorial board member of three international sport medicine journals.
